Julian Earl Glover

Julian Earl Glover 82, of Littleton died Saturday, October 30, at his home with his family by his side.

Mr. Glover, a native of Halifax County, was the son of the late Julian Tillet and Norene Cranwell Glover.

Mr. Glover graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School and attended Coin Institute in Chicago, IL. He enlisted in the U. S. Naval reserves on April 25, 1947 and served in the United States Navy from July 1948 to July 1952 on the USS Norton Sound AVII.

He was co-owner of Mary Jo’s Sportswear. He was also retired from Champion International Paper Company with 30 years of service.

Mr. Glover is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Jo Suiter Glover, three daughters, Mary Dee Keel and her husband, Rufus, of Ocracoke, Greta Glover and Mike Aycock of Littleton, Fern Glover and Eddie Pitchford of Littleton; one son, Joe Glover and his wife, Tammy of Roanoke Rapids; seven grandchildren, Earl Taylor Outland, Ann Cathey and her husband, Nick Pinero, Mary Cathey and her husband, Joseph Chucci, Chase Alexander Glover, James C. “Jack” Keel, Barren Aycock and his wife, Jennifer, and Brett Aycock and Christie Phelps; three great-grandchildren, Haydon Jenkins, Ares Pinero, Julian Micheal Chucci; and special cousins, Phil and Mary Ellen Babcock, Edwin Mitchell, Sidney Earl Mitchell, and Freddie Elmore.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Howard Guidry officiating. Burial will follow in Bear Swamp Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 1 from 7-8:30 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bear Swamp Baptist Church, 46 Mohorn Rd, Littleton, NC 27850.
